    • can be used as an assessment method and a treatment method
    • sees if someone can move their lumbar spine separates to the pelvis - if they cant its usually due to either pain, stiffness or lack of control in the area/they havent done it before
    • remember:
    • tight hip flexors naturally bring your lumbar spine into anterior tilt
    • tight hip extensors naturally bring your lumbar spine into pelvic tilt
  • Can be done in:
    • crook lying
    • sitting
    • 4 point kneeling
    • 4 point kneeling with leg and arm lifts
  • when prescribed as a treatment exercise:
    • make them do the position they were worst at
    • make the goals and FITT princples realistic e.g. small degree of tilt/raises to start with for a short amount of time and then progress - work in accordance with pts SIN factors
    • for control - prescription is as many reps as they can do with correct form
