  • Nociceptive pain:
    • pain that has clearly arised from the stimulation of nociceptive afferents in a tissue that has been injured/stressed/strained
    • local pain
    • mechanical pain - if aggs, the pain increases, but if eases, the pain offloads
  • Nociceptive pain:
    • clear, proportionate mechanical/anatomical nature related to predictable aggravating and easing factors
    • usually intermittent and sharp with movement/mechanical provovation
    • possibly a more constant dull ache or throb at rest
    • follows a clear and predictable pattern given the injured tissue
    • a relatively predictable response to aggs and eases or tests
    • improves with the expected rate of tissue healing
