A Communicable disease is one that can be transferred to other people
Some ways in which communicable diseases can spread are:
direct contact, airborne, waterborne, and vector-borne (by a living organism that carries the disease and passes it on to another)
Waterborne - when contaminated water contains infectious agents that enter the body via ingestion.
Airborne - when droplets from sneezes or coughs contain infectious agents that travel through the air and enter the body via the nose or mouth.
Vector-borne means that the pathogen is transmitted by a vector (A carrier of the disease)
Direct Contact - When an infected person comes into direct physical contact with someone else, such as touching them or sharing personal items like towels or toothbrushes.
Fomites - Inanimate objects that have been exposed to infectious agents and can transfer those agents to others if they come into contact with them.
Vectors - Living organisms that carry and transmit infectious agents between hosts
