Submission -
The word
Islam
means
'submission'
in
Arabic
Allah
is
the creator of
all
things
so
everyone should live
in
submission
to him

nature
submits to the
natural laws
he has put into place
Submission means following the
Five Pillars
and the rules
of
Shariah law

Greater Jihad

This is the
personal struggle
to
submit to Allah's
will
It is to perform the
Five Pillars
with
devotion
It
is to practice the path set out by the Prophet
Muhammad
in the
Sunnah
It includes seeking
fairness
and
justice
for
all, to rise above
greed
and
selfishness
Examples of
Greater Jihad

Control desires
- to
live a life that
is
pleasing
to
Allah
, so
that on Judgement
day
they will be
worth
and enter Paradise
Battle
against laziness - to make the effort to be a better person including getting up before dawn to pray and only eating food that is halal
Doing what is right - to remove evil and make the world a better place
Respect the beliefs of others - to be tolerant, respectful and live in peace and harmony
