8 - Organ Donation

• Organ donation - Taking healthy organs from one person's body and transplanting them into someone else. Most donations take place after a person has died
• Christianity on Organ Donation -

  • Organ donation is an act of love (agape) and a way of following the teachings of Jesus to 'love your neighbour'
  • It is a way of following Jesus' example who healed sick people
  • It puts into practice the teaching of the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats where those who go to heaven care for the sick
  • The soul lives on with God after we die so what happens to the body does not affect out relationship with God.
