  • Matched pairs design is where participants are matched together based on desired characteristics such as a similar IQ which is relevant to the study. It helps to control the confounding and participant variables. One group would experience one of the two level conditions and another would experience the other condition. Then it would continue the same as the independent group study. 
  • matched pairs Strengths:
    Participant variables and demand characteristics which allows the participants to match up accordingly to the characteristic needed for the experiment. Some of  the materials are able to be used again. 
    Limitations:
    It is very time consuming as they have to find a group to begin with and they would need more  with and then they would need to be matched up depending on the similar desired characteristic.
