lab experiment

• Laboratory experiments are experiments taken place in a lab and are highly controlled otherwise known as an artificial environment as it is not the regular environment that the participants would be in normally.
• labatory experiment Strengths:

  They have high control over all extraneous and confounding variables that can possibly affect the study, so the reopen dent variable is a result of manipulation of the independent variable.

  Replication as the experiment is easily repeated due to the highly controlled environment. 
• labatory experiment Limitations:

  Participants may act differently due to them being in a different environment so may feel out of place (generalisability), leading to low external validity.

  It may lead to unnatural behaviour due to the environment demand characteristics. 

  As in the lab it may not represent a regular lifestyle due to the environment being artificial.
