  • informed consent is where they make sure that the pps are aware of the aims before taking part in the study such as procedure and their rights. after this pps should make informed judgement if they are willing to take part without feeling obliged
  • deception is when pps do not receive adequate information until after the research information such as the initial aims and other groups have been withheld
  • debrief is after the initial research has taken place and contains contact information and tells them what the research was intended for and how their results and information will be used
  • confidentiality is the right for our information to be kept private under the data protection act
  • right to withdraw pps have the right to withdraw before during and after the experiment has been conducted and all the information will be destroyed and removed from the study
  • protection from physical and psychological harm:
    participants should not be placed at any further physical and psychological harm from the experiment and if they felt embarassed they should be offered therapy
  • privacy is when the participants have the right to control the information about themselves and how it will be used in the study conducted
