  • Mean: Outline:
    mean Add all the values together and divide by the amount of values there is.
    Strengths:
    Most sensitive as represents all the data as a whole.
    Weaknesses:
    It can be easily distorted by extreme values. 
  • Median: Outline:
    median It is the middle number when values are arranged lowest to highest. 
    Strengths:
    Extreme scores do not affect it, essay to calculate.
    Weaknesses:
    Less sensitive does not represent the data as a whole.
  • Mode:
    Outline:
    mode It is the value that appears most within the data set, you can also have two modes which then data is then bi-modal. 
    Strengths:
    Easy to calculate, sometimes the only one that you are able to use .
    Weaknesses:
    Can be a crude measurement it is less sensitive and also when multiple modes the data piece becomes less useful.
  • When to use the mean mode and median?
    You use them when you want data at an ordinal, interval, and nominal level.
