  • A further limitation of the Cl is that it can be time - consuming.

    • For instance, Mehmon et al. (1998) reports that police believe the "change in perspective" technique causes witnesses to speculate about the event, which may cause distress.
    • This means that it is necessary for witnesses to have time to relax and establish trust with the officer.

    • Police may be reluctant to use this technique as it requires far more operational time than is available.
    • Additionally, officers may need training for this resulting in economic drawbacks.
