  • The conflicting interests between influential countries on the one hand, and the Balkan countries on the other wanted to control the Balkan region led both sides into clash.
  • At about 1912 countries Serbia, Bulgaria, and Greece Romania, fought Ottoman Turkey, and took away a significant amount of land
  • The countries fought against Turkey on one side, and once again began to fight each other making Serbia stronger than before.
  • This event worried the Austro-Hungary which also wanted to control the region.
