Methodology

• 82 people were involved in total
• 41 non murderers - 39 were men - 2 were women
• These murderers were not guilty for reasons of insanity
• 41 murderers - 39 were men 2 were women
• It was a quasi experiment, meaning that the independent variable (IV - murderers and non-murderers) are naturally occurring
• The murderers had to be off of medication for 2 weeks before the experiment
• 6 people in each group had schizophrenia and all of them needed to be off of medication 2 weeks before the experiment
• Of the control group 35 had no family history of any psychiatric illness
• 23 of the experimental group had history of head injury or organic head damage
• Matched pairs design was used
