Memory Management

• Management of primary storage (RAM) and data being moved between RAM and HDD/SSD
• Keeps track of all memory locations
• Also carries out memory protection to prevent competing applications from using the same memory location simultaneously
• Without this system, this could lead to computer crashes, security issues and loss or corruption of data
