Management of User Accounts

• Allows more than one user to log into a computer by storing each user’s data in a separate area of memory
• Each user is given a user account area, protected by a username and password. They can customise they own screen layout and manage their own files
• An administrator oversees the management of their accounts
• Multi-access hierarchy levels are used to ensure access to certain data is only allowed if a user has the correct hierarchy clearance level. Level 1 clearance is the highest security level
