DNA precipitation

• 1. homogenise cell with detergent to break open the cell membrane which helps release its contents
• 2) filter out to remove large debris
• 3) add salt to break hydrogen bonds between DNA and water
• 4) add protese enzyme to digest the proteins
• 5) add ice cold ethanol do precipitate out the DNA from solution . DNA will appear as white strands
