• Instruction- an approach to help those with information needs to want to learn how libraries and information sources work so that they can find and use resources independently
• Instruction - "it is essential that libraries of all types accept the responsibility of providing people with opportunities to understand the organization of information" (ALA Policy, 1980)
• Guidance - providing assistance in the conduct of search for information sources
• Bibliographic control - (also known as information organization or bibliographic organization) is the process by which information resources are described so that users are able to find and select that information resource
• Information Broker - "data agent"
• Information Broker - Individuals or firms who search out and organize information for users
• Information Broker - Locate and interpret information in the light of the problem the client seeks to solve
