Funeral Rites

• Usually held at church or chapel because this is a religious ceremony
• Candles lit to show belief that Jesus is the light of the world who guides a passage to heaven
• The priest or a family member will pay a tribute to the dead person as a way of honor them
• Prayers are said for the dying person to ask god to forgive the sins of the person
• Many prefer burial to cremation as they believe in physical resurrection on the judgement day
