  • Education - the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits

  • Conflict Perspective of Education
    1. Credentialism - nowadays, the diploma from a university or college is becoming a common requirement for a person to get into the paid labor sector. Credentialns are needed for somebody to get promotion.
    2. Bestowal of Status - education confers social status to the individual. Many parents send their children to top-notch schools and universities to get the same top-notch status
  • Education is a Basic Human Right
     - the right to education is very crucial in order to exercise all other human rights. The lack of educational opportunities leads to never-ending cycle of poverty.

    Education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages. Elementary education shall be compulsory. Technical and professional education shall be made generally available and higher education shall be equally accessible to all on the basis of merit.
