  • Fletcher himself was involved in cloning research and had clear views on bio-ethics. In particular, he advocated the use of animals in scientific procedures as the means to the end of human welfare, and as a pragmatic way of saving human lives by the development of vaccines for the major diseases that cause so much human suffering.
