Confounding Variables

• Prior Experience – Different individuals have different levels of experience. A participant may have taken previous or is currently in another psych course. This affects the scores because it can skew the mean as a participant may obtain an outlier score.
• Distractibility – Regardless of the method of notetaking, either can be distracting depending on the individual. One may begin to scroll online on different websites, and another may doodle. This means decreased task performance accuracy which can also affect the score.
