Christian beliefs

• Belief in Jesus: "When Jesus was baptised, a voice from heaven said, 'You are my son'"

• Day of Judgement: "When the son of God comes in his glory [...] he will separate the people from one another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats"
• Atonement and Salvation: "He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins"
• Atonement: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"
• Ascension: "While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven"
• Crucifixion: "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit"

• Augustinian theodicy - humans were created perfect, but used their freewill to sin.
• Irenaean theodicy - God made humans imperfect, so is partly responsible for the evil nature of mankind.
• Salvation - saving the soul from sin
• Reconciliation - repairing a relationship after it has broken down
• Grace - the unconditional love God has for everyone. It is unearned and is gained through believing in Christ
• Atonement - becoming at one with God
• Transcendence: "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
• Heaven: "there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain"
• hell: "there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth"
