SCIENCE COORDINATE SYSTEM

• Map - A two dimensional (2D) graphical representation of an area, land, or sea, depicting physical features
• Globe - A three dimensional (3D) spherical model of the earth
• LATITUDE - Horizontal imaginary lines that run from east to west or a map or a globe
• TROPICS –Countries in this zone experience a tropical climate with an average annual temperature above 18 degrees Celsius.
• LONGITUDE -Vertical imaginary lines that run from North to South of a map or globe.
• EQUATOR - An imaginary line around the Earth’s middle which divides it into Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere.
• Geographical Coordinate system - system that is used to locate places using degrees of latitude and longititude
