Britain : Effective Resistance Against Germany

1. German Luftwaffe was attacking the British Royal Airforce (RAF) in the south of England, and inflicting severe damage.
2. There was pressure on Britain to withdraw the RAF and come to a peace deal with Germany.
3. The RAF was supported by British military production, which supplied excellent fighter aircraft like the Spitfires and Hurricanes.
4. British scientists also developed radar to help detect and locate incoming enemy planes. Effective coordination with the RAF to meet and counter the attackers.
5. Germany eventually ended the Blitz to focus on the attack on USSR. Britain's survival was important as it later led and served as a military base for Allied campaigns against Germany.
E.g. Allied bombing of Germany from Britain, and US
and Canadian troops were based there before the D-Day landings of 1944.
