UDF (United Democrat Front)

• Opposition to new constitution of 1983 - a nationwide mass protest movement - the reforms angered blacks as it offered no actual improvement
• UDF included students + school pupils (such as COSAS), trade union, church groups, women’s groups, Indians community organisations, and civic groups (local people joined together over a specific problem - e.g. bus fares)
• Very Significant - united many sections with large amounts of success (focused and great scale resistance)
• Success of Boycott Campaign
