  • With the aid of absorbed CO2 from the atmosphere, acidulated rain water
  • separates into positive & negative H+ & OH- ions, which chemically combines with minerals within rocks,
  • thus breaking up the minerals with both soluble & insoluble parts.
  • The soluble parts are then removed in solution by the river water.
