LAS 7 - Jeremiah's Inner Struggles

Cards (5)

  • Jeremiah gave me final call to repentance and strong warnings on the impending punishment of the people (fall of the city of Jerusalem, destruction of the Temple of Solomon, and the loss of their king)
  • Jeremiah depicted the fall of Jerusalem but the people found his prophecy unbelivable that Jerusalem would be destroyed for it was David's city, and God promised that the kingdom of David would last forever (2 Samuel 7:16)
  • God sustained, guided and encouraged Jeremiah through all the humilitations and abuse he experienced. He grew, stronger, braver, wiser and became more trusting in God.
  • God is like a potter who molds his people like clay to His will. He can destroy or tear down the vessel and remake it. God remains the ultimate source of renewal
  • As the prophet had depicted, the Babylonians invaded Israel in 597 BC. The Great Temple and the city of Jerusalem were destroyed. Israelites were taken to Babylon as slaves. Babylon was God's instrument for purifying the people of Israel
