• TMV causes the leaves to discolour in a mosaic pattern. This means there is less photosynthesis and the growth of the plant is reduced.
• Rose black spot causes the plant to develop purple or black spots on the leaves so the rate of photosynthesis and growth reduces.

• a lack of magnesium causes chlorosis because magnesium is needed to make chlorophyll so plants lose their green colour
