    Decide the timetabling of legislation in the House of Reps
    • Jan 2024 - Biden Democrat and Republican controlled House Rules Committee
    • December 2023 passed a resolution to authorise an impeachment inquiry into Biden
  • Conference commitee
    Aims to reconcile differences with legislation - bills pass through both houses so there might be two differnt versions of the same bill
    • Members from Senate and House
    • Temporary and ad hoc
  • Select committees
    Special, ad hoc for a particular issue
    • Investigative committees
    • Occurs when a policy area does not align with any standing committess/likely to be time consuming and prevent standing committees for fulfilling other functions
    • Few permanent ones -> Aging, ethincs, Indian affairs
