• Communicable disease - a disease that can be spread from animal to animal
• Non-communicable disease - a disease that cannot be spread form animal to animal
• Risk factors for disease and cancer (risk factor - what it can cause):

  • Lack of exercise -cardiovascular disease
  • Unhealthy diet - cardiovascular disease
  • Obesity - type 2 diabetes, cancer of bowel, liver and kidneys
  • Drinking too much alcohol - liver disease and affect brain function
  • Smoking - cardiovascular disease, lung disease and lung, mouth, bowel, stomach and cervical cancer
  • Exposure to carcinogens (ionising radiation) -cancer
