  • In the 20th century the law continued to be enforced against gay men. By 1954 there were over 1000 men in prison as a result
  • 1967 act decriminalised sexual activity in private between men over the age of 21

  • 2000 - age of consent was moved from 18 - 16
  • 2005 - civil partnerships were made legal
  • 2013 - gay marriage was legalised
