Prophets

  It means 'prophethood'. A prophet is someone who has received a revelation from God.

  • Act as intermediaries between Allah and humans by receiving and passing on Allah's message
  • Are perfect examples of how this message should be practised to others in the community
  • Lead the community so they will also live as Allah wants them to
• Muhammad: '"[he is] the Messenger of Allah and last of the prophets." (Qur'an 33:40)'
• Muslims believe that other messages sent by Allah were changed, lost or forgotten. They are no longer the original message.
• Muslims believe Muhammad received the Qur'an which is the direct word of Allah and can never be changed.
• Muslims believe another prophet will never be sent because if the Qur'an can never be changed or lost, no other prophet or revelation is needed.
• Muhammad is called the seal of the prophets because he is the last prophet and another will not be sent.

  4. Dawud is the Arabic name for [who?], he was a [what?] who received a revelation called [what? Arabic or English is fine]

  5. Isa is the Arabic name for [who?], Muslims believed he performed [what?] but is not [what?], they do not believe he was [what?]
