Political parties generally less trusted than pressure groups
Pressure groups have a more visible presence and influence on people through protests, campaigns and marches
Pressure groups usually only focus on a specfic area of legislation whereas political parties have to focus on all areas but can sometimes prioritise and highlight one - eg Brexit during campaigning before the 2019 election
Pressure groups are not always accountable as acts of the individual can be separated from the intentions of the pressure group
Pressure groups (mostly outsiders) promote civil disobedience
Pressure groups and political parties influence change in the government
Pressure groups and parties can both be active in the community
Pressure groups and parties use elections as a tactical weapon
Pressure groups and parties may both be part of a larger social movement - Green Party, Greenpeace, and Friends of the Earth are all part of the green movement
