October crisis

• 20 Soviet ships carrying missiles to cuba were spotted. JFK blockaded Cuba, US navy was to stop soviet ships. Suddenly, all of the ships turned around
• Khrushchev said he would remove the missiles if the US promised not to invade and withdrew missiles from Turkey.
• JFK agreed to Khrushchevs deal, why?
