• Different factors are: Fertility rates, mortality rates, internal migration and international migration
• if there is a low fertility rate and low mortality rate there will be a high dependency ratio and low replacement ratio - means that need to attract internal or international migration to fill vacancies
• international migration is caused by social clustering, accessibility to key cities, physical factors and government policies
• internal migration can lead to the studentifcation of an area which brings a drinking culture
• increased students mean a highly skilled future workforce which creates a positive multiplier effect
• international migration is creating diasporas and ethnic enclaves which is reflected in the built environment and community
• assimilation of international migrants means they will have less of an impact on a place
• segregation of international migrants means they may not integrate into society as well
