  • plants can be cloned by tissue culture and from cuttings
  • how does cloning happen with tissue culture?
a few plant cells are put in a growth medium with hormones and they grow into new plants - clones of the parent plant
grown quickly and in little space
  • how does cloning happen with cuttings?
people take the cuttings and then the plant them in the ground to produce genetically identical copies
    produces quickly and cheaply
  • you can make animal clones using embryo transplants
  • how are animal clones produced bye embryo transplant?
the sperm cells are taken from the male animal and egg cells from the female. the sperm cells then is used to artificially fertilise the egg cells. the embryo that develops is then spilt multiple times to form clones. these cloned embryos can then be implanted to for the ideal offspring
  • how does adult cell cloning work?
they take an unfertilised egg cell and remove its nucleus. the nucleus is then removed from an adult body cell and is inserted into the empty egg cell. it will then be stimulated by an electric shock so make it divide and is implanted back into the woman's womb
