  • Fragmentation - makes your hard disk do extra work that can slow down your computer.
  • Disk Defragmentation - it rearranges fragmented data so your disks and drives can work more efficiently. It also runs on a schedule, but you can analyze and defragment your disks and drives manually.
  • Registry - it is a system-defined database which is used by an Operating System to store all the information needed to configure the Windows settings for 1 or more users, applications and hardware devices.

  • Scan Disk - is one of the most common maintenance tools bundled with an operating systems. This is an application that checks the computer's hard drive for errors and bad sectors. Once it finds an error in the hard drive, it will attempt to fix it.
  • Remove Unnecessary Data Files and Programs - files and programs that are left idle or cluttering in your computer tent to affect the performance of your system. This happens when the disk space is heavily occupied and more computer resources are allocated to keep track of them.

  • temporary internet files - these are files that accumulate in your computer when you surf the web. Such as graphics, web pages and cookies are downloaded into a special temporary folder to facilitate efficient web browsing.

  • cache - it is a computer memory with very short access time used for storage of frequently or recently used instructions or data.
  • Windows Temporary Files - are generated and stores in your computer each time you perform a software installation or procedure.
  • Disk Cleanup - is a computer maintenance utility that is included in the Microsoft windows operating system and is designed to free up space on the hard drive. It searches your drive, and then shows you temporary files, Internet cache files, and unnecessary program files that you can safely delete. The process involves searching and analyzing the hard drive for files that are no longer needed. Then in proceeds to remove them and thus freeing up disk space on the hard drive.
  • Disk Cleanup - is a feature of Windows that enables a user to delete system/junk files safely.
  • Cloth - is the best tool used when rubbing down a component
  • Water or rubbing alcohol - when moistening a cloth, it is best to use these two.
  • portable vacuum - sucking the dust, dirt, hair, cigarette particles, and other particles out of a computer can be one of the methods of cleaning of a computer.
  • cotton swabs - moistened with rubbing alcohol or water are good for wiping hard to reach areas in your keyboard, mouse, and other peripherals.
  • foam swabs - it is always better to use lint-free swabs such as foam swabs.
