Experiments with waves

• Ripple tank:

  • use a ripple tank and a single generator attached to a dipper
  • measure the distance between shadow lines that are 10 wavelengths apart, then divide this distance by 10 to find the average wavelength
• waves on string:

  • set up a pulley, Masses, a String connected to a vibration transducer and a signas generator
  • Adjust the the frequency on the signal generator until theres a clear wave on the String
  • measure these waves
