Density

• Solids - Particles are close together and have a fixed shape and volume.
• Liquids - Particles close together, not arranged in regular pattern and can move around each other
• Gases - Particles far apart with lots of space between them and they move very quickly
• Density of a material - Tells us the mass for a given volume
• density = mass (kg) / volume (m^3)
