What is the structure of the executive?
Prime minister- appoints members of the cabinet, and organizes the structure of the government
the cabinet: 20-23 members, administrative support, and helps deliver policies
Government departments: responsible for an area of policy e.g. minister of defense, each headed by a member of the cabinet, supported by several junior ministers
Executive agencies: semi-independent bodies that carry out some of the functions of government departments such as the DVLA
