    Cards (14)

    • What can a wireframe be used for?
A wireframe can be used for designing/showing the visual layout of the website.
    • What should a wireframe include?
It should include: navigational links, consistency across pages, where media will appear vertically on the page (relative vertical positioning of media)
    • What is a low-fidelity prototype?
A low-fidelity prototype is a sketch of a proposed website with more detail than a wireframe. It has the actual paragraph and heading text that'll be used in the website, and sketches of any images or video
    • What should a website structure diagram contain?
It should contain: All of the pages that will be part of the website & links between external & internal pages using arrows to indicate direction
    • What does a double-headed arrow on a website structure diagram mean?
It means that the page goes back to the main page of the website
    • What does a single-headed arrow on a website structure diagam mean?
It means that the link does NOT go back to the website (this is typically used for external hyperlinks)
    • What is the purpose of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988?
The purpose of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 is to: Ensure that people are rewarded for their work. Give the copyright holder protection from their work being copied or stolen.
    • What breaches the Copyright, Designs and Patents act?
Things that can breach the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act are:

Making something too similar to something that already exists, and saying it's yours

Using copyrighted content without permission / a licence
    • What must you do if you want to use copyrighted content?
You must either: Ask for permission from the copyright owner or get a licence to use it
    • What is the 'resolution' of an image, and what are the impacts of resolution to an images quality?
The resolution of an image is the total number of pixels in a picture.

A higher image resolution will: Increase the image quality and increase the file size.

A lower image resolution will: Decrease the image quality and decrease the file size
    • What is the 'colour depth' of an image, and how can this affect the images look?
The colour depth is a measure of the number of bits used to store the colour for each pixel in an image.

A higher colour depth will: Increase the number of colours in the image, increasing image quality and increase the file size.

A lower colour depth will: Decrease the number of colours in an image, decreasing image quality and decrease the file size.
    • How many types of colour depth are there, and what are they called? There are 3 types of colour depth:
8-bit (gives 256 different colours - typically used in GIFS)

      16-bit (gives 65,536 different colours)

24-bit (gives 16,777,216 different colours - this is sometimes called 'True Colour')
    • What is the sampling rate, and how can it affect audio quality?
The sampling rate is how many times per second an audio gets sampled.

A higher sampling rate will: Increase the audio quality and increase the file size.

A lower sampling rate will: Decrease the audio quality and decrease the size
    • What can a low fidelity prototype be used for?
Showing the content and the layout of the website
showing the intended UI to the client
allowing end-users to get a feel for the look of the website
allows the client to give feedback
