• Bowlby concluded that factors that inhibit the development to form relationships affect the likelihood of offending
• the findings support the assumptions that early childhood experiences affect later behaviours
• juvenile crime is not based on just psychological factors it is also linked to social and economic factors
• a holistic approach should be taken to consider all factors
• treatment is a slow and difficult process so a better approach is prevention rather then a cure
• sometimes unavoidable to prevent seperation of mother and child so by being made aware of the potential damage, they can provide good substitute care

• the 6 character types found were: affectionless, normal, depressed, hyperthymic, circular and schizoid
