• • News of Carter's micromanagement leaked out in 1979 with a story of how in his six months as the President reviewed all requests to use the White House tennis courts
  • Carter's relationship with Democratic Congress was poor
  • The media made such an influence on his wife, referring to her as ‘Mrs. President'
  • By December 1977- 18% of Americans had ‘a lot’ of confidence in Carter and by 1980 he had the lowest ever approval-rating of any President- Incapable of dealing with most pressing contemporary issues including the economy, the Energy Crisis and the Iranian Hostage Crisis
