Romulus organised a festival with games and invited many neighbouring cities to attend.
During the festival Rome abducted the young Sabinewomen. Romulus told them that they would be married and enjoy the wealth of their husbands.
The Sabine's were outraged and prepared for war
When the romans and Sabine's fought the women who were abducted ran into the middle of them and made a speech on how it was their fault, both of the armies were moved by this and so their generals made a peace treaty.
After they made the treaty Romulus and Titus Tatius agreed to share power.
