• combustion of fossil fuels releases gases and particles which can lead to respiratory problems and are bad for the environment
• incomplete combustion releases carbon monoxide which can stop your blood from carrying oxygen around your body which can lead to death. it doesn't have any colour or smell so its hard to detect
• sulfer dioxide and oxides of nitrogen can be released when the gases mix with water in the clouds they form dilute nitric acid which falls as acid rain
