  • (Elsewhere in play) "Tis twenty years till then"-Juliet -Act 2:2- another moment like in Act 2:5
This shows that like in Act 2:5, She is presented as an impatient child, theme of youth and age. This contrasts with other moments where we see her become more independent (e.g. Act 2:5 when she proposes the marriage)
  • "Gallop apace you fiery footed steeds towards Phoebus' lodging"-Juliet (Act 3:2)

(Juliet impatient for wedding night)- She is presented as impatient, uses commanding words to the God of the sun's steeds to hurry up so night will come. Reminds us that the darkness is their sanctuary. Shows increasing confidence
  • "Shame come to Romeo"-Nurse (Act 3:2)

  • "What if this mixture does not work at all?"-Juliet (Act 4:3)
(Juliet's soliloquy and taking the potion) A use of a soliloquy reminds us that she is opening herself up to the audience and overthinking, especially at the start. Lots of question marks can be seen and the soliloquy is one whole sentence, showing a drop in confidence!
