• Bultmann's view 


  the resurrection narratives don't reflect historical events which actually occurred. they cannot be accepted as historic truths as in our time people know that dead people do not come back. its a myth, and can be taken as one, otherwise it risks distorting God.
• what does this mean for Jesus

  jesus was the expression of god and his death was a victory over death not the end. because Bultmann picks up on existentialism jesus played a crucial role om showing humanity a perfect model to live their life by, and that humans need to escape their reliance on material things and embrace their dependence on God.
• form criticism - from the way that the material has evolved, there is very little that we can know about the historical Jesus
