Jesus for
bultmann
- Authenticity and
inauthenticity
- The New Testament is a
“clarion call”
to lead an authentic life
- At it's heart is the man jesus who was the one who lived an
authentic
life. He overcame the human struggle, that is the kernel of Christianity
- His authentic life and way of living was symbolically justified at the
crucifixion
and
resurrection
What was left in the bible:
- That god reaches out to human sinners personally
- That on the cross God
liberated
humanity in the
the "christ event"
- That
salvation
is possible through the
possibility
of living an
authentic human existence
- That
jesus existed.
That is all that
matters.
The quest for the
historical jesus
is
unnecessary
and
impossible.
The early church didn’t have the
trinity
in it's
kerygma
