  • "The boy is ignorance. The girl is want" "Beware them both" "Most of all beware this boy"
    Ghost of Christmas Present, Stave 3, he warns that if Scrooge doesn't change himself that "doom" will be in his future.
  • " Scrooge entered timidly and hung his head before the spirit."
    This shows that Scrooge is changing and is ashamed of himself for what he has done in the past.
  • "Mr Scrooge!" said Bob. "I'll give you Mr. Scrooge, the founder of the feast."
    This shows that even though Scrooge is cruel towards Bob , he is still grateful for anything he gets, which challenges the attitude to the poor at the time.
  • "His wealth is of no use to him. He doesn't do any good with it."
    Fred is very wise, and understands Scrooge's obsession with money but it determined along with all of the spirits to try and change him.
  • The game of "yes or no" "A savage animal, and animal that grunted and growled sometimes." "It's your uncle Scrooge."
    Scrooge makes the reader feel sorry for him, as his own family is making fun of him.
  • "Are there no prisons? Are there no workhouses?"
    Ghost of Christmas Present mocking Scrooge's former attitudes, by repeating his words from stave 1, so that he can see that he needs to change.
  • "God bless us everyone!"
    Tiny Tim, Shows that he is happy even though he is poor shows the reader that you don't have to be rich to be emotionally rich.
  • "Tell me if Tiny Tim will live" 'If these shadows remain unaltered by the future, the child will die.'
    Showing how Scrooge is now beginning to care more about others and sees the error in his ways. The ghost of Christmas present is warning him that he needs to change his ways to save Tiny Tim"
  • "Stingey, hard, unfeeling man as Mr Scrooge"
    Mrs Cratchit describing Scrooge, showing Scrooge what the people around him think of his personality and actions, so that he will redeem himself.
