Catholic position on divorce
They believe marriage promises made before God cannot be broken and that marriage is "till death do us part". However in the Bible it says "Because of the hardness of your hearts, Moses allowed you to divorce your wives" meaning if divorce is the compassionate soloution to an unhappy relationship it is acceptable
Catholic position on remariage
Can only happen if the original partner has died. Anyone who divorces and remarries will not recieve communion. However allowed if the first 'marriage' was annulled as it was never technically classed as a marriage
