• Map - gives us a flat location of places on earth
• Globe - Gives us a description of how the places look on the curved surface of the earth
• Philippines has 7107 islands but 534 islands were discovered making it a new total of 7641 islands
• North Pole - 90°N
• Arctic circle - 66.5°N
• Tropic at cancer - 23.5°N
• Tropic at Capricorn - 23.5°S
• Antarctic circle - 66.5°S
• Philippines is located at the Pacific ring of fire
• Prime meridian - is the vertical imaginary line that is known as 0° longitude
• Equator - is the horizontal line that is known as 0° latitude
• Latitude - is the measurement of a globe or map of a place North or south of the equator
• Two ways to determine location - Relative Location and Absolute Location
• Natural-resources - These are the biotic and abiotic factor that can be found in earth
• Water shed - an area of land on a slope which drains it's water into a stream and it's tributaries

• Weathering - is the process of breaking down rocks and other materials near the Earth's surface to form a soil

• Soil - is the product of weathering , mechanical weathering and chemical weathering

• Cold-regions - soils are less developed
• Water - also directly affects the movement of the soluble soil nutrients, the nutrients from the top soil to the underground
• Mechanical-weathering - physical breaking of rocks
• Chemical-weathering - decay of rocks
• Geothermal - powerplants in our country are located in Banahaw-Makiling, Tiwi in Ibay and Bacman inin sorsogon 
• Hydrothermal - power plants that use water to generate electricity
• Used water flow through irrigation
• Coal - contains about 40% noncombustible components
• Windmills - provides 40% of the energy requirements for electricity in province
• Non-renewable-resources - are limited like oil, coal, natural gas
• Renewable-resources - can replenish itself
